Chilling video footage capture of Darrell Brooks Jr., who is charged with five counts of homicide, shows what he allegedly did minutes after an SUV plowed through a Christmas parade in Waukesha, Wisconsin.
Shivering in the cold while wearing only a T-shirt, Brooks appeared at the front door of a Waukesha resident named Daniel Rider.
Rider’s home is about a half-mile from where the tragedy occurred.
Roughly 20 minutes after the horrific murders, Brooks is seen knocking on Rider’s front door.
“I called an Uber and I’m supposed to be waiting for it over here, but I don’t know when it’s coming,” Brooks said.
“Can you call it for me please?” Brooks asked. “I’m homeless.”
Rider says he didn’t know about the parade massacre because he had been away hunting and had come home to watch a football game.
Rider says he let Brooks come in, gave him a jacket, and allowed him to use his cell phone.
“All of a sudden, I look outside my street and I see a few cop cars drive by and I’m getting extra nervous,” Rider said.
Rider says he told Brooks to leave.
Brooks left the resident’s home, but then quickly returned and knocked on the door again.
“Then the next thing you know, you see the cops with lights on him saying, ‘hands in the air, hands in the air,” Rider said.
Police officers are heard in the background telling Brooks to put up his hands.

“Whoa, whoa,” Brooks respond as police take him into custody.
After the police arrive, they ask Rider about Brooks.
“Hey, do you know this guy?” a police officer asks.
“Absolutely not,” Rider responds.
