Winning numbers announced for $1.28 billion Mega Millions jackpot

The numbers have been drawn in the Mega Millions $1.28 billion jackpot prize.

This is the third largest in U.S. history, according to the NY Post.

The winning numbers were 67, 45, 57, 36, and 13. The mega millions ball was 14.

A ticketholder in Illinois won the $1.28 billion Mega Millions jackpot. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 303 million.

The odds of winning a $1 million prize, which occurs when matching the five white balls, are 1 in 12,607,306. WATCH:

The winning ticket was sold at the Speedy Café Speedway gas station in Des Plaines, Illinois.

The winner has the option to receive the $1.28 billion over the course of 29 years.

Or the winner can choose to take a lump sum of $747.2 million cash prize, which ends up being $457.5 million after taxes.

Most winners opt for the cash option, which was an estimated $747.2 million.

“Congratulations to the Illinois Lottery for selling the winning ticket for the $1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot,” Ohio Lottery Director Pat McDonald said in a statement.

“We are thrilled to have witnessed one of the biggest jackpot wins in Mega Millions history. We’re eager to find out who won and look forward to congratulating the winner soon! Better still, this exciting jackpot run has had a significant positive impact on the revenues for good causes raised by our member lotteries.”

The jackpot was the nation’s third-largest lottery prize.

The last time someone hit the Mega Millions jackpot was April 15.

There had been 29 consecutive draws without a jackpot winner since then.
