Singer JoJo Siwa recently attacked Actress Candace Cameron Bure by calling her the “rudest” celebrity that she’s ever met.
19-year-old Siwa posted a video to TikTok that showed a photo of Bure as text read, “Rudest celebrity I’ve met.”
Bure responded, “Honestly, I was shocked when I saw the TikTok on Sunday, and I had no idea where it came from.”
“I immediately tried to reach out to her through a mutual friend … because I didn’t know what happened — I didn’t know,” she added.
“I called her,” Bure said. “We had a great conversation.”
During the phone call, Bure asked what she did to offend her.
“I didn’t think this was gonna go viral … It was just a silly TikTok trend,” Siwa told Bure. “I didn’t think it was a big deal.”
“Well, it was a big deal, but what did I do to you? What did I do?” Bure said.
Siwa said the whole thing was “silly” and she “felt bad” that it went viral.
“I met you at the ‘Fuller House’ premiere when I was 11 years old,” Siwa said.
When the singer asked the actress for a photo on the red carpet, Siwa said Bure told her, “not right now.”
“Oh, JoJo,” Bure reacted. “I’m so sorry.”
“You weren’t even mean,” Siwa told Bure. “I get it now as an adult … but at that time, I was 11.”
“I feel crummy. JoJo, I’m so sorry,” Bure told Siwa. “As a mom, it breaks my heart that I made you feel that way.”
“We had a really great discussion,” she said. “So that was it — all good, all good on the JoJo front.”
“I think the lesson we can learn … is that even a ten-second trending TikTok video can do damage, because our words matter, and our actions matter,” she said.
