Fauci: Masks Have to Be ‘Well-Fitted’ and ‘High-Quality’ Like an N95 or KN95

Appearing on the Hill.TV’s “Rising,” White House Chief Medical Adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci doubled-down on masks.

Fauci says it is “very, very clear that masks do work in prevention of acquisition and transmission,” but they have to be “well-fitted” and “of a high quality.”

🚨 POLL: Do you trust Fauci?
YES 👍 or NO 👎

“And the two we know are high-quality are an N95 or a KN95,” Fauci added.

Fauci said, “I think the masking situation is one that is really critical that would have been done differently. First of all, we did not fully appreciate that a well-fitted [N95] or [KN95] mask is much, much better than a cloth mask and to wear a good mask, the data now are very clear that masks are very good at preventing both the acquisition of and transmission of infection.”

“There was a lot of conflicting data back then as we were in the early months of 2020. So, the recommendations were a bit confusing about whether to wear a mask or not, whether you should wear a cloth mask or what have you. Right now, we are very, very clear that masks do work in prevention of acquisition and transmission, but you’ve got to get a well-fitted mask that has — of a high quality. And the two we know are high-quality are an N95 or a KN95.” Watch the clip:

🚨 POLL: Do you trust Fauci?
YES 👍 or NO 👎

Fauci, who is 81 years old, has faced major criticism for his long history of hypocrisy, flip-flops, and failed predictions.

In April, Fauci told the liberal outlet MSNBC that “you use lockdowns to get people vaccinated.” This revealed Fauci’s willingness to wreak havoc on the economy and people’s lives by implementing lockdowns to force the vaccine drug into more people’s arms.

🚨 POLL: Are you glad Fauci will retire?
YES 👍 or NO 👎

“You use lockdowns to get people vaccinated so that when you open up, you won’t have a surge of infections, because you are dealing with an immunologically naive population, to the virus, because they’ve not really been exposed because of the lockdown,” Fauci said.

It’s widely speculated that Fauci will be the subject of an investigation if Republicans regain control of Congress with the upcoming midterm elections in 2022.

Republican Rep. Jim Jordan said, “Yes. Yes, we definitely are. If the American people put us back in charge, we are definitely going to do this because we now know without a doubt that Dr. Fauci knew on Jan. 31 and Feb. 1 that this thing came from a lab.”

“The top scientists in the country were saying it came from a lab. One scientist says we got the notes now from the conference call on February 1st. One scientist says, ‘I don’t see how this can happen in nature, but it would be easy to do in a lab,’” Jordan explained.

Americans recently learned about Fauci’s involvement in a cover-up scandal following a bombshell report by Vanity Fair.

Leaked emails show that Fauci lied to Americans by downplaying the role played by the Wuhan lab in China as well as the lab leak theory for the origins of the coronavirus. He allowed politics to interfere with the science and the truth.

The House Oversight Committee in Congress confirmed this information in a statement that alleges Dr. Fauci concealed information from Americans.

A new investigative report, published by Vanity Fair, finds that CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield initially told Fauci to vigorously investigate both the lab-leak and natural origins theories of virus in early 2020.

However, Fauci reportedly pushed back against the possibility of the lab leak theory, denouncing it as a conspiracy theory and waging a PR campaign to shut it down.

Former National Institutes of Health Director Dr. Francis Collins also strongly pushed back against scientists who raised legitimate questions about the origins of the virus.

Dr. Fauci and Collins reportedly believed that the lab leak theory could implicate the NIH’s financial support for the non-governmental group EcoHealth Alliance and risky bat virus research in China.

The investigate report analyzes more than 100,000 internal EcoHealth documents, interviewing five former staff members, and speaking with 33 other sources.

Vanity Fair’s Katherine Eban uncovered how EcoHealth Alliance operated in a world of “murky grant agreements, flimsy oversight, and the pursuit of government funds for scientific advancement, in part by pitching research of steeply escalating risk.”

Republican Rep. James Comer and Jim Jordan say they “want Fauci under oath,” adding that its “time for answers.”

“We’ve released never before seen emails showing Dr. Fauci may have concealed information about #COVID19 originating from the Wuhan lab & intentionally downplayed the lab leak theory,” the statement reads. Here’s a look at Fauci’s emails:
