Hollywood actors have no problem profiting off films depicting the use of guns, but they haven’t always supported the Second Amendment rights of America to keep and bear arms.
However, a few Hollywood elites are not blindly following the liberal sheep when it comes to guns. A number of celebrities have spoken out in support of guns.
Here’s a look at 12 celebrities who have expressed pro-gun views:
1. Brad Pitt admitted to owning his first gun at an early age.
âThereâs a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestorsâ weapons,â Pitt said. âMy brother got my dadâs. I got my grandfatherâs shotgun when I was in kindergarten.â
âAmerica is a country founded on guns. Itâs in our DNA,” he said. “Itâs very strange but I feel better having a gun. I really do. I donât feel safe, I donât feel the house is completely safe, if I donât have one hidden somewhere.â
2. Bruce Willis responded to mass shootings by rejecting gun control. âI donât know how you legislate insanity. I donât know what you do about it. I donât even know how you begin to stop that.â
âI think that you canât start to pick apart anything out of the Bill of Rights without thinking that itâs all going to become undone,â Willis said. “If you take one out or change one law, then why wouldnât they take all your rights away from you?â
3. Miranda Lambert is a well-known, lifetime NRA member.
âMy dad was a police officer, so early on I was taught gun safety, what guns were for, how to use them and when not to touch them,” she said. “Iâve just grown up around them, so itâs my normal. Iâm a girl, I travel a lot by myself, and I like to carry to protect myself. I know everybody has an opinion on it and itâs polarizing, but for me itâs just a way of life.â
4. Vince Vaughn is known as an outspoken Libertarian. He has expressed supporting for arming teachers to help prevent school shootings.
âBanning guns is like banning forks in an attempt to stop making people fat,” Vaughn said. “Taking away guns, drugs, booze ⌠It wonât rid the world of criminality.â
5. Chris Pratt has open up about guns and the fact he likes hunting.
Pratt openly shares his hunting exploits on social media as well as his Christian faith. He has supported Americans being able to protect themselves and their families.
Here are a few more pro-gun celebs via Daily Wire:
Tom Selleck
The âMagnum, P.I.â veteran is the most famous NRA member not named Charlton or Heston. In fact, Selleck stepped down from his position on the NRAâs Board of Directors in 2018 after a 13-year run due to his busy work schedule.
The star of CBSâs âBlue Bloodsâ famously tussled over gun rights on Rosie OâDonnellâs talk show back in 1999. The former âQueen of Niceâ turned on Selleck, who eventually responded by saying she was questioning his humanity.
Ice T
âItâs part of our Constitution. You know, the right to bear arms is because thatâs the last form of defense against tyranny. Not to hunt. Itâs to protect yourself from the police.â
âWe used to say when I grew up, âGuns donât kill, a cold heart kills.’â The real question we should be asking ourselves, he said, is âwhat makes these kids hearts grow cold and decide this is an answer?â
Hilary Duff
A year earlier, paparazzi snapped pics of Duff walking out of a Culver City gun shop with a Glock case and ammo. She also completed a handgun safety certificate as part of the process.
Dean Cain
âI didnât have a whole lot of experience with [guns] as a kid, but as I got older I got a look at what our soldiers, law enforcement, first responders and people of that ilk,â Cain said. âThe Second Amendment is about freedom-fighting against tyranny, self-defense. Living in this world and traveling, Iâm learning what the world is about and I see how important the Second Amendment is. You wouldnât have the First Amendment without the Second Amendment. Watch whatâs happening in Venezuela. People say that could never happen here â baloney.â
Ted Nugent
The hard-charging rocker shouts his love for guns from any rooftop he can find. The man behind hits like âCat Scratch Feverâ and âWango Tangoâ starred in The Discovery Channelâs âTed Nugentâs Gun Countryâ and promotes the NRA on social media and elsewhere.
Kevin Sorbo
âThe Second Amendment wasnât put in for hunting .. the whole idea was to protect the individual from a tyrannical government,â he said while promoting âThe Reliant.â
âI talk to people that hate guns, too ⌠I say, âwhat would happen if a guy breaks into your house and is ready to kill you?â ⌠youâd do anything to protect yourself and your family. So donât kid me and say guns are such a horrible thing. Thereâs more people being killed by knives and other things than guns.â
